ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, has introduced EasyOde, a music licensing platform designed for short-form videos, advertising, and other media. The platform provides a library of 60,000 rights-cleared tracks and offers music customization services. Users can upload videos or reference tracks to receive tailored music recommendations.
According to trademark filings, EasyOde is operated by ByteDance’s Cayman Islands-based affiliate, Lemon Inc. The platform is also linked to BytePlus, ByteDance’s AI division launched in 2021. ByteDance’s Speech, Audio & Music Intelligence (SAMI) team, known for AI music research, is mentioned in the site’s copyright details, though it remains unclear if EasyOde includes AI-generated music.
ByteDance has secured U.S. trademarks for EasyOde, covering music licensing and mobile applications for purchasing, editing, and sharing music. The company has not commented on its long-term plans for the platform.
EasyOde’s terms of service state that all available music is either created or licensed by the platform. It emphasizes respect for intellectual property and requires users to ensure their uploaded content complies with copyright laws.
