Busta Rhymes to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Busta Rhymes will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with a ceremony scheduled for August 1. The event will feature tributes from LL Cool J, Chuck D, and Chris Rock, celebrating the rapper’s decades-long influence on hip-hop.

Speaking on CBS Mornings, Busta reflected on the milestone: “Thirty-five years of professional recording is a long earning of my rite to passage… I’m just glad they decided it’s time for me.” The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce praised him as “one of hip-hop’s most enduring and electrifying voices,” adding that his star “will stand as a testament to his lasting impact on hip-hop and American culture.”

In the same interview, Busta discussed his upcoming role in the new Naked Gun film alongside Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. He praised director Akiva Schaffer for allowing him creative freedom on set, calling the experience “incredible.”

Busta has previously acted in films like Shaft, Higher Learning, and Narc, though his last role was in 2016’s King of the Dancehall. He also recently received an honorary degree from Harvest Christian University, which he celebrated online with the caption: “FROM THIS DAY FORWARD YOU WILL FOREVER KNOW ME AS DR. RHYMES!!!!!”
