In response to recent federal arrests tied to the seizure of approximately 73 kilograms of cocaine in Revere, Boston producer and sound engineer JTHEDJ took to social media with a lighthearted take on the situation.
Posting a reaction video, JTHEDJ questioned why the two men involved hadn’t pursued music instead, writing: “Why u niggas ain’t come rap wit me 🤯”. In the clip, he joked that “this is why rap niggas start rapping” and suggested the money could have been secured legally through music rather than being lost to law enforcement.
While the charges carry potential sentences of up to 20 years in prison and significant fines, JTHEDJ’s remarks added a moment of humor to an otherwise serious federal case, framing it as a missed opportunity for aspiring artists to invest in music rather than illicit ventures.
