Boston Music Awards Return Dec. 17th at Big Night Live with 2025 Nominees Announced

The Boston Music Awards have officially released the list of nominees for 2025, celebrating artists, producers, singer/songwriters, venues, and industry professionals across Massachusetts and parts of New England. The ceremony is set to return December 17th at Big Night Live in Boston.

Now in its 38th year, the BMAs continue to spotlight the growth and diversity of the region’s music culture. Voting opened on October 17th and will remain open through November 17th, giving fans across New England the opportunity to help decide this year’s winners. As in previous years, voting results will be combined with input from the Boston Music Awards Voting Academy, which includes music industry professionals and community contributors.

This year’s Artist of the Year category features major names with national impact, including BIA, Token, and Joyner Lucas, who all represent Massachusetts on the national stage. The New Artist of the Year category highlights the next wave of rising talent, featuring nominees such as ISHA! and Jo Saza, along with a competitive lineup of emerging voices breaking into Boston’s music scene.

The awards also continue their commitment to community recognition through The Margaret Stewart Lindsay Music Non-Profit of the Year category, which highlights music organizations making meaningful cultural and educational contributions across Massachusetts. The category honors the legacy of Margaret Stewart Lindsay, whose dedication to supporting music and creativity continues through a foundation established in her name.

In addition to individual artists, the BMAs continue to honor organizations and industry professionals shaping the local music ecosystem. PUTINWORK is in the spotlight with multiple nominations: Music Publication of the Year, CEO Robert Kelley-Morgan for Artist Manager of the Year, and fellow members like GIB DJ, nominated for Music Producer of the Year. The newly launched RISE Studios also joins the ranks with a nomination for Recording Studio of the Year.

Special recognition goes to Latrell James, Clark D, Kei, Oompa, Dallas Rose, J. Rose, and HIGHSTREET for their unwavering commitment to uplifting local talent. Each of these artists has contributed to making Boston’s music scene a space for creativity and connection, and these nominations stand as a testament to their impact.

The Boston Music Awards continue to expand their reach, with representation not only from Boston but also cities like Worcester, Brockton, Lawrence, Lowell, and Springfield, reflecting the statewide and regional influence of the event.

Early bird tickets for the award ceremony are currently on sale, offering fans access to one of the biggest music nights in New England. The event will feature live performances, guest appearances, and recognition across categories including Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Pop Artist of the Year, R&B Artist of the Year, DJ of the Year, Producer of the Year, Live Music Venue of the Year and so much more.

For nearly four decades, the Boston Music Awards have honored the local music ecosystem, artists, venues, engineers, managers, collectives, promoters, and media platforms, while building a space that celebrates community impact and cultural contribution.
