Two of R&B’s most celebrated groups; Blackstreet and B2K are preparing new chapters in their careers after signing fresh record deals that signal an official return to releasing music and performing.
XOXO Entertainment, a label and management company, announced a new partnership with Blackstreet, whose current lineup consists of Chauncey “Black” Hannibal, Levi Little, Mark Middleton, and Eric Williams. This configuration has remained intact since 2014. In a statement shared with Billboard, XOXO president Adam H. Hurstfield highlighted the group’s lasting impact on R&B and their influence on the sound of the 1990s. He described Blackstreet as foundational figures whose work shaped global culture and said the company is committed to supporting their next chapter.
Blackstreet, known for songs such as “No Diggity” featuring Dr. Dre and “Before I Let You Go,” expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. The group said their focus has always been on timeless music and artistic evolution, adding that XOXO Entertainment aligns with their vision and creative goals. They described the collaboration as the start of a significant new era, with plans for new releases and performances expected soon.
The resurgence of interest in classic R&B has contributed to renewed momentum for legacy groups, and Blackstreet’s signing arrives at a moment when fans are eager for music that returns to the genre’s 1990s roots.
In parallel, B2K has signed a new deal with BPC Music Group, a label created by Black Promoters Collective co-founders Gary Guidry and Troy Brown. The group; Omarion, J-Boog, Raz-B, and Lil Fizz, are set to release its first new album in over twenty years. Known for early-2000s singles like “Bump, Bump, Bump,” “Gots Ta Be,” and “Girlfriend,” B2K plans to drop the new project on February 13, followed by a nationwide tour.
Both signings highlight a growing trend of established R&B groups returning with new music, supported by modern labels that are focused on reconnecting artists with long-standing fan bases.
