Black Physician Launches Luxury Handbag Brand After Beating Cancer.

Dr. Verniese Lorielle Moore, a respected African American physician, has launched Vie Lorie, a Black-owned ultra-luxury handbag brand. The label blends the precision of medicine with the elegance of fashion, debuting earlier this year with a vision rooted in resilience and design.

The name Vie Lorie, meaning “Life of Victory,” reflects Dr. Moore’s personal journey. Diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma in 2010 and given six months to live, her survival became the foundation of the brand. Each bag includes a laurel wreath charm—a symbol of triumph and distinction.

Dr. Moore views fashion as an extension of healing. “As a physician, I’ve studied what endures,” she said. “At Vie Lorie, we create heirlooms—functional, timeless, and deeply human.” Her debut line, The Tryumph Collection, features four handcrafted silhouettes made in Italy using ethically sourced leather and bespoke hardware.

Exclusivity defines the brand. There are no storefronts, no mass production, and no overt logos—just invitation-only events, private trunk shows, and handwritten notes with every purchase. A-list celebrities and public figures have already placed custom orders.

Vie Lorie’s Tryumph Collection will appear at New York Fashion Week in September 2025. Private showroom appointments open in Fall 2025 in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Learn more at VieLorie.com.
