Black Entrepreneur Celebrates 7 Years Of Afrocentric Gift Wrapping Success.

Lorna D. Cheatham, founder and CEO of Clera’s Creative Gifts, is a WBENC-certified entrepreneur celebrating seven years of success in the Afrocentric gift-wrapping industry. Based in Detroit, her company creates gift wrap and bags that celebrate the culture and traditions of people of color. Clera’s Creative Gifts reflects Lorna’s mission to promote diversity, inclusion, and empowerment while supporting disadvantaged communities.

Lorna’s journey began in Nashville, Tennessee, as one of 12 siblings. After losing her mother, Clera, at the age of nine, Lorna named her business in her honor to preserve her mother’s legacy. Since 1997, she has excelled as a businesswoman, managing residential facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities. In 2018, she expanded into wholesale distribution, aiming to create jobs for women impacted by domestic violence and incarceration.

Her Detroit-based brand focuses on representation, offering vibrant, Afrocentric-themed designs for all gifting occasions. Lorna’s long-term vision includes opening a manufacturing facility in Detroit to continue empowering her community through employment opportunities.
