Big Steppers Tour Ends With Kendrick Lamar In New Zealand "We Will Be Back"

Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar finished the New Zealand leg of his The Big Steppers Tour, but he’s not ruling out further travel.

On December 16 and 17, K. Dot performed back-to-back shows at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, to wrap up her world tour, which included 76 performances across 16 nations on three separate continents.

The native of Compton wrapped up his performance with his cousin Baby Keem and gave the audience a touching message before promising to return again soon.

“With that being said, from the bottom of our hearts, we love y’all and we will be back,” Kendrick stated, which drew a roar from the thousands of fans filling the venue.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar’s fifth studio album and first in five years, was released in May. The Big Steppers Tour, which kicked off in Milan, Italy, in late June, was his next trip on the road.

The latest video for the moving song “Count Me Out,” in which Kendrick opens up to a psychiatrist played by renowned British actor Dame Helen Mirren, was released by the 35-year-old in promotion of the album.

Earlier this year, Lamar released the music videos for “Rich Spirit,” “We Cry Together,” “N95,” and “The Heart Part 5.”

For his most recent album, Kendrick received eight 2023 Grammy Award nominations. He has received nominations for “The Heart Part 5” in the categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.

K. Dot’s upcoming performances are scheduled for June 4 at Barcelona’s Parc Del Frum and June 9 at Madrid’s Arganda Del Rey as part of the double weekend run of Primavera Sound 2023.
