Beyoncé Honors Paul McCartney & Fans at Final London Cowboy Carter Tour Stop.

Beyoncé wrapped up the sixth and final London show of her Cowboy Carter tour on June 16 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a message of gratitude and a tribute to Sir Paul McCartney.

“Thank you, Sir Paul McCartney, for writing one of the best songs ever made,” she wrote on Instagram. “Every time I sing it, I feel so honored. And it is a full circle moment to wear your beautiful daughter’s design.” Beyoncé was referring to her performance of “Blackbiird,” her reinterpretation of The Beatles’ 1968 song “Blackbird,” featured on Cowboy Carter.

She also thanked the crowd: “Thank you, London, for creating unforgettable memories for me and my family. Holla at ‘ya when I come on tour again!”

“Blackbiird” reimagines McCartney’s original with strings and vocals from emerging Black women in country music—Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, and Tiera Kennedy. McCartney, who called Beyoncé’s version “magnificent,” said it honors the civil rights roots of the song, which was inspired by the Little Rock Nine’s integration struggle in 1957.

In a social media post, McCartney shared that he spoke with Beyoncé over FaceTime and praised her rendition. “I thought she had done a killer version of the song,” he wrote. He also reflected on how “Blackbird” continues to address racial injustice decades later.

Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and made Beyoncé the first Black woman to lead the Top Country Albums chart. The project earned her Grammys for album of the year and best country album.
