Beyoncé won her 29th through 32nd Grammy Awards over the course of the weekend, making her the artist with the most Grammy Awards in Grammy history.
The singer entered the stage to accept the trophy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Renaissance after missing her first three wins of the evening, two of which were delivered prior to the televised portion of the 65th Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 5.
“Thank you so much, I’m trying not to get too emotional; I’m trying just to receive this night,” Beyoncé said while holding back tears. “I wanna thank God for protecting me. Thank you God. I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here… but he’s here in spirit. I’d like to thank my parents – my mother, my father – for loving me and pushing me.
“I’d like to thank my beautiful husband,” she continued, “my beautiful three children who are watching at home. I’d like to thank the Queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”
Beyoncé entered the night with nine nominations, bringing her career total to 88, making her the most nominated artist in Grammys history, tied with her husband JAY-Z. JAY-Z received three additional nominations for his performance as the ceremony’s grand finale, where he delivered a standout verse on DJ Khaled’s “God Did.” .
