Benny The Butcher And Joe Budden Grill About Griselda's 'validity' Claim On 'johnny P's Caddy'

Benny The Butcher has received criticism from Joe Budden for claiming to have brought fame to Griselda in a verse he sang on the song “Johnny P’s Caddy” off of his album Tana Talk 4.

Both rappers began their conversation with Joe Budden on Conversation Lovers Only by describing the process of how the song was created. Then, despite J. Cole’s excellent verse, the Buffalo native told Joe Budden that he didn’t alter his verse for the song. The “validity” line that Benny The Butcher spited on the song was then discussed.

He said, “This is actually where that line is going. “It’s directed towards the supporters. It happens when you approach a two-headed monster, someone who is in front of you, or the one who paved your road. For me, my family is West and Conway. Many people may be wondering, “Where do I fit in?” I took care of that. I had to cope with that issue. It seems like I never took anything to the camp from outside.

And this Eastside trash is still in me/My ability to use words to create images is probably what will make them remember me (let’s chat)

Think I can balance on a tightrope with the agility of a cat?I can never live civilly because of what the streets did to me.I never leave a scene without visually inspecting my mirrors (Mm-hmm).Come with that enthusiasm because I’m going to remember part of it forever. They ask what I gave to Griselda, and I respond, “Validity,” raps Benny over the ferocious beat.

Benny The Butcher continued by saying that people’s image of him as not contributing anything to the Griselda collective is still valid today.

They despised the Burden of Proof. That was Griselda’s best-selling song at the time it was released, he said. “Highest position at that time on the chart.”

The 38-year-old went on to say that because he doesn’t always create “traditional Griselda” music, he doesn’t always get the praise he believes he is due from reviewers and fans.

Benny The Butcher recently proclaimed himself the “King of America” in an unreleased song that he teased online, even though he may not feel like he’s getting his just desserts.

Last week, as part of his Thank God I Made It World Tour, Benny shared a sneak peek of the loud new song on his Instagram Story.

He raps through the car’s speakers, confronting his contemporaries while driving through Dublin. “King of America Buffalo n-gga/ Okay I said it/ I hear the rappers claiming the crown, if you want it you gotta come get it,” he raps. “Walk in that bitch spending catch so there ain’t no need to run up my credit/We the Sopranos bitch!”

Another hard-hitting song that The Butcher rapped along to in the back of his vehicle was also previewed for the fans.

He rhymes, “I never sold meth, but I know fent 1,000 yams/ You OD off this shit if you bag and don’t wash your hands/ There’s a story behind that name when they call me the Pyrex Man/ Like them two bricks from Dug and poppies from Kazahkstan.”
