Beanie Sigels Discusses Why Dame Dash Is Described As The "Malcolm X Of Hip Hop"

Because of the dedication he has shown to his artists throughout the years, Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash has been referred to as “the Malcolm X of hip-hop” by Beanie Sigel.

When asked to sum up Dame in one word for the Personal Party Podcast, Roc artists Beans and Freeway were unable to contain their admiration for their former boss.

Dame was faithful, according to Freeway, while Beanie, drawing parallels to the late civil rights hero, said he worked hard for everyone under Roc.

“Dame would be like the Malcom X of Hip Hop,” Beanie said. “No bullshit, ‘cause I’m trying to think of one word. You can’t describe Dame with one word. But when I see Dame, he like X. He like Malcolm.”

From the late ’90s to the mid ’00s, Beanie Sigel and Freeway were Roc-A-Fella mainstays, contributing to hit songs like “You, Me, Him and Her,” “What We Do,” “Roc the Mic,” “Flipside,” and others.
