The 13th Annual Atlanta Turkey Classic is set for Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. The annual community event focuses on helping disadvantaged families during Thanksgiving, highlighting collaboration between residents, leaders, and sponsors.
This year’s Classic will feature a basketball matchup between the Georgia Spartans and Positive American Youth, a halftime Battle of the Dance Teams, and a fan competition. Streetz 94.5 and Reec Radio will host a live remote broadcast to keep the energy high throughout the event.
Organizers hope to raise awareness about food insecurity in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, where roughly 755,400 people depend on meal service programs each year. The Classic will include food distribution efforts to assist families in need.
“We are proud to partner with Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. to make this event possible,” said Reec Swiney of Positive American Youth. “Together, we can help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and support families in need during this critical time.”
