Although Flavor Flav is as hip-hop as they come, he is also one of Taylor Swift’s biggest fans. This past weekend, Flavor Flav visited one of the singer’s performances to see the pop sensation in action.
The co-founder of Public Enemy attended Swift’s first of two Eras Tour performances in Detroit’s Ford Field on Friday (June 9), and he posted video on Twitter of himself interacting with other Swift fans.
In the video, Flav can be seen exchanging rainbow bracelets with fans and posing for a few photos while sporting a lot of them. In order to wear them for her next tour stop, he even asked a fan to create a special pair for him. He tweeted, “Make the friendship bracelets, enjoy the moment, and taste it.”
In an earlier clip, Flavor Flav was in full game as he grooved to the singer’s 2012 song, “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Additionally, he was wearing a T-shirt that read, “I Knew She Was Trouble.” Adding to the significance of his shirt, he tweeted, “Making TROUBLE with my girl @taylorswift13 at the #ErasTour.”
Flavor Flav has previously expressed his admiration for the musical icon. The 64-year-old performed with his contemporaries in March at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, when he walked the red carpet while sporting a shirt bearing lyrics by Taylor. Flav openly admitted to being a Swiftie after bragging about it in a previous interview with iHeart.
He told the host, “Always love Taylor Swift’s music, you know what I’m saying. “As you can tell, I’m a Swiftie! I’m here to be her advocate! To support my girl, I’m here.
Then, Flavor Flav performed his own version of “Bad Blood” to demonstrate his fandom. “I don’t have any ill feelings today! He chuckled, “I got the good blood, you know what I’m saying. “Speak out! But I do want to meet her as well. A day.” Later that night, he got his desire by taking a selfie with the famous musician.
Flavor Flav frequently supports the Writers Guild of America’s union members when he isn’t gushing over Taylor Swift. In Burbank, California’s Warner Bros. Studios, where Quinta Brunson and Jason Sudeikis were also present to offer solidarity, he joined the picket line last month.
“Happy to be here and happy to support. In a TMZ video clip, Flav can be heard saying, “I got ya’ll back. He reportedly also brought Liquid Death Water, 100 Irv’s Burgers, and 25 pizzas from Prince Street. And it seemed only fitting that he briefly sang “Fight the Power,” the protest song by Public Enemy.
