Naomi Osaka and Cordae have revealed they are having a girl by giving fans a peek inside their lovely baby shower.
The tennis star shared a couple pictures from the amusing occasion on Instagram on Friday, June 2, along with a not-so-subtle indication about the baby’s gender in the background of the images. It says, “A little princess is on the way.”
Then, Cordae posted a picture of himself caressing Osaka’s growing baby bump on his Instagram Story with the hashtag “#GirlDad.”
Osaka, 25, clarified the future of her playing career in January by sharing the news along with a picture of an ultrasound. “Can’t wait to get back on the court, but here’s a little life update for 2023,” she posted on Twitter.
The four-time Grand Slam winner continued her emotional opening statement by expressing how much she looks forward to the day when her child can see her triumph on the tennis court.
The last three years have been fascinating, to put it mildly, but Osaka found that sometimes the most trying periods in life can also be the most enjoyable.
“These several months away from the sport have actually made me love and appreciate it more than ever before. I am aware of how brief life is and I try not to take any of it for granted. Everyday is a blessing and an experience. I know I have a lot to look forward to in the future, but one thing I enjoy thinking about is when my child says, “That’s my mom,” after watching one of my matches.
“2023 will be a year full of lessons for me, and I hope I’ll see you guys at the beginning of the next one because I’II be at Aus 2024,” she continued. Love to each of you forever.
The Grammy-nominated Cordae and Osaka made their relationship known in 2019 and put an end to breakup rumors that had been circulating online all summer.
With the release of his sophomore album From A Birds Eyes View and a following North American tour in support of it later in the year, Cordae had a busy 2022 of his own. On the Billboard 200, the album peaked at No. 13.
