Beyoncé’s long-awaited return to the stage in Dubai was shared with her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Queen Bey performed what was described as a “once-in-a-lifetime concert” on Saturday night (January 21) as part of the grand unveiling of Atlantis The Royal, Dubai’s newest ultra-luxury resort that opens next month. This was her first headlining performance since December 2018.
The hour-long, invitation-only performance brought in an estimated $24 million for Beyoncé. Her husband JAY-Z and their three kids, her parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles, and celebrities like Chloe and Halle Bailey, Nia Long, and Kendall Jenner were among those there.
The pop diva sang a variety of songs during the theatrical production, including party-starters like “Crazy in Love,” “Naughty Girl,” and “Drunk in Love,” as well as ballads like “Freedom,” “Spirit,” and “Be Alive.” The show’s opening and closing fireworks displays were breathtaking.
The moment when Bey’s 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy joined her onstage to perform “Brown Skin Girl” from the 2019 The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack was one of the show’s highlights.
Variety reports that after the song was over, she “hugged her mom, marched up the steps, struck a pose, and even blew kisses to the crowd like a pro before she left the stage.”
