Ari Lennox has marked seven months of sobriety by considering her background and emphasizing the positive effects of abstaining from alcohol.
On Tuesday (July 25), the Dreamville singer posted a lengthy statement on Instagram to commemorate the significant achievement. In it, she described her journey to this point and made reference to her phobia of flying.
7 months clean. That many trips were made sober. a great deal of sober dialogue. A lot of raw, head-on facing of stuff,” she said. “Honestly, I have no idea what will happen when I have been sober for a year. I’m not sure if sobriety is permanent, but I can’t picture returning to the way things were.
“It was horrible that I passed out in the airport or that my emotions were heightened more than necessary. I sense like I have more emotional control. more solid. More joyful. more awake. much safer. More tolerant of situations I have no control over and more responsible when handling those I do.
“I’m less anxious in social situations, and I go when I’m ready to. I establish boundaries when dealing with things and am aware of my threshold. I no longer enjoy going out to parties; perhaps this is due to a deeper change in me than drinking. I enjoy doing laid-back, nice stuff. I’ve realized that I’m a chill bitch.
