Arc’teryx has revamped its original Alpha SV jacket, the brand’s first-ever jacket introduced 25 years ago, making it the most durable version to date. Launched in 1998, the Alpha SV has undergone consistent improvements over the years to enhance its performance. The latest iteration reflects years of research in material sciences and collaborative efforts with partners like Gore, the manufacturer of Gore-Tex.
The updated Alpha SV features a new N100D face fabric and incorporates a breathable triple-layered Gore-Tex Pro 2.0 construction crafted from 100% post-consumer waste. In a commitment to sustainability, the 2024 Alpha SV range adopts an eco-friendly dope dying technique for coloration, reducing waste and water usage. Weighing 230 grams less than the original from 1998, the jacket also boasts the thinnest tape on its seams, ensuring dryness while minimizing bulk. Arc’teryx emphasizes that this design is the most repairable yet, prolonging the jacket’s lifespan.
While Arc’teryx jackets have become common in both urban and outdoor settings, the brand maintains its dedication to outfitting outdoor enthusiasts. The Alpha SV aligns with this ethos, serving as functional gear for athletes and a lasting investment for style-conscious individuals seeking a durable and stylish jacket.
The updated Alpha SV is now available in various colors for both men and women through Arc’teryx stores and online, priced at $900 USD / £800 GBP.
