Apple Designates First-Gen AirPods, HomePod, and iPhone X as Vintage Products.

As of July 1, Apple has officially designated the first-generation AirPods, first-generation HomePod, and iPhone X as “vintage” products. According to MacRumors, these items have been added to Apple’s vintage list because they ceased distribution more than five but less than seven years ago. Apple will continue to offer repairs through its official stores and authorized service providers for an additional two years after the seventh year since their last sale, after which they will become “obsolete” with no further support.

These products were initially released between December 2016 and February 2018. Since their first-generation launch, the AirPods and HomePod have seen subsequent models released (four and one respectively), while the iPhone X is expected to be succeeded by the iPhone 16 soon.
