Paris-based designer Anthony Calydon is bringing a fresh take to the iconic adidas Superstar sneaker. Originally launched in 1970, the Superstar has become synonymous with both street style and sportswear. Now, Calydon is revisiting the classic design, incorporating his signature ribbed knit technique into the sneaker’s tongue.
The collaboration offers two colorways: a white and black version, and an inverted black and white iteration. Both versions feature a ribbed knit tongue with exposed stitching, blending Calydon’s contemporary aesthetic with the vintage appeal of the Superstar.
Accompanying the sneaker release, Calydon has also previewed two colorways of a sock-like structure, designed to be worn with the Superstars. The sock adds an additional layer of modernity, perfectly complementing the reworked sneaker design.
Calydon teased the project on Instagram, offering a close-up view of his Shell Toe creations and the accompanying editorial. While the official release date and pricing details remain unknown, sneakerheads are eagerly awaiting more information.
