Album Features For Metro Boomin Are Announced Through Custom-Made Comic Book Covers

The highlights of Metro Boomin’s upcoming second studio album, Heroes & Villians, are being revealed through the use of custom-made comic book covers.

He offered fans the option to guess on Thursday, December 1 on Instagram which features on their covers represent heroes or villains. Young Nudy, who had his face covered in dreadlocks and was clutching a gun and yelling, “Give me more shooters, I need it,” was the first to be seen.

The caption on the following cover, which featured Future and Metro, read: “The dynamic duo is back.” A cover revealing Don Toliver with a styrofoam cup on it served as the announcement.

It was revealed that Young Thug was a half-human, half-robot character who was wreaking havoc in a metropolis and yelling, “Bigger than the president now, my whole life a scandal!!”

The album will feature Mustafa The Poet, who is depicted in his comic book as a supernatural character of some sort, as well as 21 Savage, whose cover image depicts him holding a gun and a bag of cash.

The Weeknd stood in front of a metropolis in a costume reminiscent of those he wore during the After Hours phase in 2020 as the final feature to be revealed. The tracklist for Metro Boomin’s much-awaited sophomore album was also made public earlier in the day via Twitter.

When Metro posted a preview for the album on social media in September, it served as the album’s initial announcement. The Boominati beatmaker had originally planned for the project to be released on November 4, but he postponed it because of problems with sample clearance.

“I couldn’t get all the samples on my album cleared in time for next week so I’m dropping on December 2nd now so I have enough time to make sure you all get this masterpiece as intended,” he tweeted. “I promise it’s worth the wait!!”

This week, Metro debuted his short film Heroes & Villains, which helped to bring the record roll-out to the big screen.

Young Thug, Gunna, and himself are all featured in the dramatic, six-and-a-half-minute production, which also features Morgan Freeman (who previously narrated Savage Mode II) and Atlanta actress LaKeith Stanfield.

Despite having a tremendous list of songs, Metro Boomin has stated that he won’t be releasing a Verzuz anytime soon.

Metro responded to a fan who asked to see him take part in Verzuz on Twitter in April. The 28-year-old producer claims that he is not yet prepared to do it because he is still quite new to the business. Metro responded, “Lol, thanks, but I need another 20 years in the game before I do a Verzuz.”
