T.I. has compared himself to a cross between JAY-Z, 2Pac, Diddy, and Snoop Dogg and said that he has borrowed ideas from each of their respective careers to shape his own.
On Monday (January 23), Tip highlighted the musicians he likes to compare himself to based on the knowledge he’s absorbed from each of the greats who came before him. He was speaking to Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast at the time.
The King rapper claims that he is able to enter and exit various locations because of the legends he admires. “You know what I mean when I say that I kind of see myself as a mix between, I think, Jay, ‘Pac, Puff, and like a Snoop?” T.I. clarified.
“I kind of hop in and out and take pages out of the book of legends, and I’ve been fortunate enough and blessed enough to be able to have these relationships where I could sit and engage and soak up game.”
He added: “People like E-40, people like Too $hort, people like IQ, people like Master P, people like Jay Prince, people like Russell Simmon, people like Puff, People like Jay, you know I’m saying.”

With the introduction of trap music, which has evolved into more than just a sound in the culture, T.I. has established himself as a legend in his own right. I’m Serious, his debut album, was released in 2001 but received poorly by the public. With his sophomore album Trap Muzik, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 110,000 units in its first week, T.I. eventually found his groove.
