A$AP Rocky has hinted that he and Rihanna will continue the “R” name trend for their third child. While appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers alongside Anna Wintour, the rapper was asked if their next baby would follow the naming pattern of their first two sons, Riot and RZA. Rocky simply replied, “For sure.”
If the couple follows through, they may break a lighthearted promise made to Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina. After Rocky was found not guilty in a shooting trial, Tacopina told Extra that the couple joked about naming their next baby “A$AP Joe.” “I’m gonna hold you to that,” Tacopina said he told them.
Rihanna revealed her third pregnancy at the Met Gala on May 5, where she appeared fashionably late wearing an outfit that displayed her baby bump. Rocky, who was a co-chair of the event, briefly commented on the news on the red carpet, saying, “It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up.” He added, “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
Rihanna has previously spoken about how watching Rocky as a father deepened her love for him. In a 2024 interview with Access Hollywood, she said, “It’s a turn on… what a leader, what a great, patient, loving [dad].” She also noted, “My kids are obsessed with him. I’m just a background, I’m an extra. Yep! It happens!”
