A$AP Rocky is now the official ambassador for Chanel, marking a major milestone in his expanding fashion legacy. The brand announced the partnership on Saturday (Nov. 29), highlighting his creativity, curiosity, and artistic range as reasons he perfectly fits the Chanel vision.
Matthieu Blazy, Chanel’s artistic director, praised Rocky’s depth and versatility. “Rocky is an incredible artist who puts his heart and soul into every project… He brings so much to the table and always delivers with kindness. We are thrilled to welcome him to Chanel,” Blazy said.
Rocky shared equal admiration for Blazy, calling his designs “sensitive and strong… grounded in reality yet full of wonder.” He expressed excitement about their continued collaboration.
This official announcement follows the short film Rocky recently shot for Chanel alongside actress Margaret Qualley in New York City. The full visual; featuring him proposing to Qualley in a surreal, cinematic sequence; debuts on Dec. 2 on Chanel’s website.
Outside of fashion, Rocky appears to be teasing a major music move. Fans think his long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb could arrive on January 16, after he performed at Camp Flog Gnaw wearing a hoodie with the date printed on the sleeve. Some believe he’s trolling the internet, especially since Jan. 16 is National Nothing Day. Rocky even joked the album is “never dropping,” adding, “They gon’ kill for that one.”
For now, his Chanel ambassadorship is official; and his next album remains a mystery.
