A$AP Rocky is moving ahead with his plan to invest in UK soccer club Tranmere Rovers after being found not guilty in his felony assault trial.
In October, reports confirmed that the Harlem rapper is part of an investment group led by his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, aiming to acquire 80% of the League Two club for over $16 million. The deal was delayed due to Rocky’s legal proceedings and Tacopina’s suspension from Italian soccer dealings, but both issues have now been resolved.
According to the Independent, the purchase is expected to be finalized before the next season begins. Tacopina hopes Rocky’s involvement will boost the club’s visibility and revenue, with the rapper planning to attend games.
Following his acquittal, Rocky expressed gratitude outside the courthouse, saying, “Thank God first… I’m just so thankful.” Rihanna also celebrated the verdict, posting: “The glory belongs to God and God alone!”
