Tee Grizzley Donates Thousands Of Free Meals In Detroit To Celebrate The Release Of A New Album

TO CELEBRATE THE RELEASE OF A NEW ALBUM, TEE GRIZZLEY DONATE THOUSANDS OF FREE MEALS IN DETROIT

In order to support his hometown of Detroit, Tee Grizzley took a break from promoting his most recent album to distribute hundreds of free meals there.

Grizzley set up a pop-up food truck in his childhood area and gave 400 “Tee Grizzley Bowls” from Hoodbachi Grill to the neighborhood where he was reared to celebrate the release of his new album Chapters of the Trenches.

“Gave away 400 meals to the community the day my album dropped,” Grizzley wrote alongside a video on Instagram on Tuesday (November 8). “This ain’t nowhere near enough but it’s a start.”

As Tee Grizzley and his crew of cooks work tirelessly to distribute the meals, a line can be seen snaking around the block in the video.

“Bro when you was in this position, you wishin’ somebody woulda gave back to you,” Grizzley said in the clip. “Just imagine how you would have felt if that had happened to you. It’s one of the main reasons I do it. No cap.”

On October 14, Chapters of the Trenches became available. The Detroit rapper claimed in a recent interview with Bootleg Kev that the project’s storyline was intended to immerse listeners in the environment in which he grew up.

“I’m just walking you through everything that happened in the trenches,” Grizzley said of the project, which is divided into different chapters. “Not everything, but some of the stuff that happens every day.”
