The breakthrough 1992 album The Chronic by Dr. Dre is now again available on digital streaming providers.
The project has been released through its original distributor, Interscope Records, the renowned producer revealed in a press release on Wednesday (February 1). Dre also expressed his gratitude to the label’s vice chairman Steve Berman and chairman John Janick for helping to re-release the album digitally.
“I am thrilled to bring The Chronic home to its original distribution partner, Interscope Records,” Dre said. “Working alongside my longtime colleagues, Steve Berman and John Janick, to re-release the album and make it available to fans all over the world is a full circle moment for me.”
Fans will be able to stream the album on their choice streaming service and purchase new products based on Chronic through Interscope’s online shop. The collection, which starts shipping on March 10, comprises hoodies, sweatshirts, and T-shirts.
The Chronic was available to stream until last March, when it abruptly vanished from key platforms along with a number of other iconic Death Row Records albums. Just a few weeks after Snoop Dogg took over as the new owner of the legendary gangsta rap label where he began his career as an artist, it was taken down.
