Popcaan, a dancehall performer from Jamaica, has released his much anticipated Great Is He, his fifth studio album.
Popcaan puts out his second full-length album under Drake’s OVO Sound imprint, Great Is He, which features 17 brand-new songs. Although the majority of the album is a solo effort, Drizzy, Burna Boy, Toni-Ann Singh, and Chronic Law also make appearances. It’s just another illustration of how effortlessly Popcaan is able to create some of the most contagious earworms out there right now with its summery feel and upbeat tunes.
“This process wasn’t easy, but My album is out now. Go stream it and enjoy it!!” wrote Popcaan on Twitter upon releasing the album. “I appreciate everyone who plays their part in getting this project together. I just want to thank God for my talent, my vision and my blessings! … They don’t believe in us but we will prove them wrong.”
Following the release of 2020’s Fixtape, Popcaan’s first album as an OVO Sound signee, came Great Is He. Drake and Pop had previously collaborated on a leaked version of “Controlla” from Drizzy’s 2016 album Views, but that project marked their first official track collaboration.
