After years of hints, delays, and speculation, Playboi Carti has officially confirmed the release date for his next album. Titled I AM MUSIC, the album is set to arrive on Friday, March 14.
On March 12, Carti shared a brief but clear message on Twitter: “FRIDAY.” The post was followed by an Instagram video of a man walking through city streets, loudly announcing, “New Carti album. This Friday!” While minimal, the message confirmed what fans had been anticipating—Carti’s new project is finally on the way.
Leading up to the announcement, Carti had been dropping subtle clues. A short teaser video appeared on Spotify, showing the album title. Around the same time, billboards began appearing in Times Square with the phrase “streets ready.” These signs, combined with Carti clearing his entire Instagram page, pointed toward a new album rollout.
Carti first mentioned I AM MUSIC in 2020, following the release of Whole Lotta Red. In a 2022 interview with XXL, he shared more details about the themes behind the project. He explained that the album would reflect his personal life experiences over the past few years. “Love. Sex. Drugs. Changes in my life,” he said. “I’ve been rapping about going to rehab. I want to go to rehab because I think I’m bipolar. I want everybody to feel free.”
The album has been the subject of frequent online discussion, with fans closely following any updates or potential leaks. With the official date now confirmed, listeners can prepare for the next chapter in Carti’s music journey.
I AM MUSIC will be available on streaming platforms starting Friday, March 14.
