Drake and PartyNextDoor’s collaborative album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 246,000 equivalent units in its first week. The album’s release pushed Kendrick Lamar’s GNX down to No. 3, though Lamar’s project continues to perform strongly, selling an additional 136,000 units despite being released three months ago.
This marks Drake’s 14th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, a milestone that places him alongside JAY-Z and Taylor Swift as the solo artists with the most chart-topping albums in the chart’s nearly 70-year history. Only The Beatles, with 19 No. 1 albums, have more. The achievement highlights Drake’s continued commercial success, as he has reached No. 1 fourteen times over a span of fifteen years. Meanwhile, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U becomes PartyNextDoor’s first album to reach the top of the chart, marking a significant career milestone for the Canadian singer and songwriter.
The album also performed well in streaming, accumulating over 287 million streams in its debut week, making it the biggest streaming launch since Kendrick Lamar’s GNX in December. Additionally, the project helped Drake surpass Lamar for the highest single-day Spotify streams by a rapper in 2025, with 92.4 million streams on its release day.
Despite reaching No. 1, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U slightly underperformed compared to mid-week projections, which estimated the album would sell around 250,000 units. The album also ranks as the fifth lowest first-week debut of Drake’s career, behind So Far Gone (73,000), Care Package (109,000), Honestly, Nevermind (204,000), and Dark Lane Demo Tapes (223,000). Additionally, it fell short of GNX, which opened with 319,000 units in its first week last November.
While the album’s performance may not be among Drake’s highest debuts, it continues his streak of commercial dominance, reinforcing his place among the most successful artists in Billboard history.
