Facebook To Delete Live Videos After 30 Days Under New Policy.

Facebook is introducing a 30-day time limit for live videos, after which they will be automatically deleted. Previously, live videos remained on the platform indefinitely. The policy takes effect on Feb. 19, but actual deletions will begin in the coming months.

Users will receive notifications via email and in the app before their videos are removed. Facebook will provide a 90-day window to download or transfer content. The company says most live video views happen within the first few weeks, and this change will help manage storage costs.

To help users keep their content, Facebook is offering tools to download videos individually or in bulk. Users can also transfer videos to cloud storage providers like Google Drive and Dropbox. Additionally, videos can be preserved as Facebook Reels if trimmed to 90 seconds or less.

The deletions will roll out gradually. Users who need more time can defer removal for six months, but after that, any unclaimed videos will be permanently deleted.
