Kendrick Lamar has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with Not Like Us following his Super Bowl performance, Billboard confirmed on Tuesday (Feb. 18). The track has now spent three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1, having previously topped the chart in May and again after The Pop Out concert in July.
The song is the only non-holiday track to reach No. 1 three separate times with breaks of two or more months. Its 29-week gap between appearances is the third-longest in history, behind Chubby Checker’s The Twist and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Lamar also set a record on the Billboard 200, becoming the first rap artist to have three albums in the top 10 simultaneously. On the chart dated Feb. 22, GNX returned to No. 1, while DAMN. and good kid, m.A.A.d city ranked at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. The last living male artist to achieve this was Herb Alpert in 1966, with Taylor Swift and Prince also hitting the milestone in recent years.
In the latest tracking week, GNX moved 236,000 equivalent album units, while DAMN. and good kid recorded 39,000 and 37,000, respectively. Lamar’s success extended beyond the charts, as Not Like Us was also featured in a Saturday Night Live sketch during the show’s 50th-anniversary special.
