BMX legend Nigel Sylvester continues to make waves with his ongoing partnership with Jordan Brand, following a series of successful collaborations. From his iconic 2018 Air Jordan 1 project to the recent Air Jordan 4 RM release, Sylvester’s work has pushed the boundaries of sneaker culture, and his latest project is no exception. His upcoming release, the Air Jordan 4 “Brick by Brick,” honors his personal journey and roots, blending BMX culture with the timeless appeal of the Jumpman brand.
Revealed in late 2024 through a leaked preview, the “Firewood Orange” colorway of the Air Jordan 4 offers a striking twist on the classic silhouette, with Sylvester himself dubbing it the “Brick by Brick” edition. The sneaker is inspired by the resilient spirit of New York City’s architecture, particularly the red bricks synonymous with the city and Sylvester’s own rise in the BMX world. For him, the “Brick by Brick” theme reflects the challenges faced and the effort it takes to build something meaningful, whether it’s a BMX career or a groundbreaking sneaker release.
To mark the occasion, Sylvester hosted a special dinner in New York City, where he unveiled the Air Jordan 4 “Brick by Brick” alongside a new apparel collection. The dinner, which was attended by close friends and family, featured a live performance by rap legends Murda Mook and Loaded Lux, further cementing the event’s status as a cultural celebration. The evening provided an immersive experience, showcasing not just the new sneaker, but a fresh perspective on Sylvester’s “BIKE AIR” line, complete with co-branded outerwear, helmets, work shorts, and a long-sleeve jersey with “Brick By Brick” nods.
The highly anticipated Air Jordan 4 “Brick by Brick” is set to release on March 14, 2025, at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com. Priced at $225 USD, the sneaker is expected to sell out quickly, drawing attention not only from sneakerheads but also from those who recognize the cultural significance of Sylvester’s work. The apparel collection will also be available on the same day via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
Stay tuned for more updates on the release and additional visuals as we get closer to the launch date.
