As devastating wildfires continue to affect Los Angeles, Beyoncé’s BeyGood foundation has stepped forward with a $2.5 million donation to aid relief efforts.
In an Instagram post shared on January 12, BeyGood announced the creation of the LA Fire Relief Fund. The donation will support families in the Altadena and Pasadena areas who lost their homes and assist churches and community centers in addressing the immediate needs of those impacted by the wildfires.
This announcement comes shortly after Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, revealed that her Malibu home was destroyed by the fires. In a heartfelt post on January 9, Tina described her home as her “sanctuary” and expressed gratitude to firefighters and first responders for their bravery. She extended her prayers to those who lost loved ones, homes, and belongings, emphasizing the resilience of Los Angeles and urging residents to protect their health amid the smoke.
The donation underscores Beyoncé’s commitment to supporting communities in crisis as Los Angeles works to recover from the ongoing disaster.
