Doechii is bringing nostalgia and star power with her latest project, Denial Is a River Show, inspired by the classic ’90s sitcom Family Matters. On December 26, the rapper shared a teaser on Instagram for a music video tied to her breakout fan-favorite track, “Denial Is a River,” from her Grammy-nominated mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal.
The teaser recreates the iconic opening sequence of Family Matters, complete with the theme song “As Days Go By,” and introduces a star-studded cast. Each cast member delivers a classic sitcom pose, with Doechii unveiling appearances by Baby Tate, Schoolboy Q, SiR, Teezo Touchdown, Ricky Thompson, DJ Miss Milan, and Earl Sweatshirt—humorously credited as “Brad Pitt.” The project is set to premiere on Thursday, January 2.
Fans and celebrities alike have expressed their excitement. SZA commented, “Oh I’m SATTT,” while GloRilla called the teaser “Hardddddd.” Hayley Williams, Willow Smith, and Tan France also shared their enthusiasm in the comments.
