Threads Surges Ahead Of Bluesky In User Growth

Threads, Meta’s platform, has surpassed its competition, gaining 15 million new users in November alone, according to Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram and Threads. This marks three consecutive months of over a million signups per day. AppFigures data supports this growth, with over 13 million new users in just two weeks, particularly from the US, Brazil, and India.

Despite its rapid growth, Threads has yet to introduce ads but plans to do so soon. Instagram’s marketing team is reportedly considering ad placement starting in January. Meanwhile, X, previously Twitter, has seen a decline of 115,000 users since the election, many shifting to alternatives like Threads and Bluesky. Bluesky itself announced a million new users in a single day.

However, Threads still trails behind X in daily user engagement, with X reporting 36.7 million daily active users. Some of these numbers could include bots. Despite the competition, X’s engagement remains stable, and even advertisers who avoided the platform are returning.
