Telfar is set to open its first flagship store in New York City on November 23, marking a significant milestone for the brand known for its iconic Shopping Bag, often referred to as the “Bushwick Birkin.” Located at the corner of Canal and Broadway in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood, the new store occupies a 10,000-square-foot space previously home to OMG Jeans. This location, known for its counterfeit luxury items, underscores Telfar’s aim to highlight the distinction between authentic and imitation products.
The store will reflect founder Telfar Clemens and creative director Babak Radboy’s innovative, internet-centric branding approach. A central TV studio will allow shoppers to create content that can be broadcast in real time on digital screens throughout the store, echoing TELFARTV, the brand’s interactive television channel. Additionally, the store features a dedicated area for Telfar’s ready-to-wear collection and a bag bar illuminated by a Chinese takeout-style menu showcasing every bag the brand has produced. Exclusive unreleased “off-menu” items will also be available.
The flagship store opens its doors at 408 Broadway, New York, NY 10013.
