Kendrick Lamar secured seven nominations, thanks in part to his series of diss tracks directed at Drake. Meanwhile, Beyoncé continues to set records, with 11 nominations, breaking her own record of 10 nominations in 2010, marking a milestone for female artists.

Andre 3000 was also taken by surprise when his flute album, *New Blue Sun*, was nominated for Album of the Year. Speaking to Variety, the OutKast legend said, “I was really, really surprised because I didn’t think that that many people even knew about it… I’m just happy that the votes came in that way and that people were paying attention.”
