Nicki Minaj celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with a touching tribute to her husband, Kenneth Petty, on Instagram. Sharing photos and videos of their time together, including a sweet moment of Petty holding their son, Papa Bear, Nicki wrote: “24 years after we first met. Love at first sight. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for catching me…every single time. Thank you for our little BFF. Dear Ken, Happy 5th Anniversary, Love, Barbie. 10.20.”
The couple first met as teenagers and reconnected in 2018 after Nicki’s split with Meek Mill. They got married in 2019 and welcomed their son a year later.
Petty’s criminal past has brought him public scrutiny, especially after his updated sex offender registry photo circulated earlier this year. Convicted in 1995 for attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, he spent four years in prison. In 2022, he was given probation and house detention after failing to register as a sex offender in California, where the couple moved in 2019.
Petty’s sexual assault victim, Jennifer Hough, has accused Nicki and her husband of harassment, a claim they both deny. Petty has maintained that the encounter was consensual and that he did not rape anyone.
