The 5th Annual Black Business Ball, hosted by Black Business Enterprises (BBE), will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 19th. This event is dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and supporting Black-owned businesses. Since its start in 2020, the gala has become a cornerstone event, uniting business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members to honor the achievements of Black entrepreneurs.
The Black Business Ball provides a powerful platform for community building, economic empowerment, and networking among Black-owned businesses. It serves as an annual fundraiser, with proceeds allocated as grants to Black-owned businesses that are part of the organization. This initiative aims to offer crucial financial support, helping these businesses thrive and positively impact their communities.
Black Business Enterprises (BBE) was founded by Nancy Korsah, an Italy-born Ghanaian and Twin Cities-based entrepreneur. She aimed to create a platform that helps business owners grow by providing resources, mentorship, and support to empower entrepreneurs to reach their full potential.
BBE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis, dedicated to serving entrepreneurs, small businesses, and individuals looking to improve their financial situations. The organization’s mission is to help minorities establish their worth to wealth. They focus on providing access to essential tools, resources, and networks for entrepreneurs to succeed.
The Black Business Ball started as a response to civil unrest following George Floyd’s passing, aiming to revitalize Black-owned businesses in the Minneapolis area. It has grown into a symbol of hope and solidarity, celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship within the Black community. This year marks the fifth anniversary of this impactful event.
The ball will be held at Mosaic Venue, located at 817 5th Ave S, Suite 300, Minneapolis, MN 55404, with a red carpet entrance starting at 6:00 PM and concluding at 10:00 PM. The event will feature a special performance by Yung Joc, adding excitement to the evening. A silent auction will also take place, giving attendees the opportunity to bid on unique items, with proceeds supporting grants for Black-owned businesses.
The event highlights include a red-carpet entrance, live entertainment, inspirational speeches, an awards ceremony honoring outstanding Black-owned businesses, and networking opportunities. Community support has been vital to the success of the Black Business Ball, and this year’s event aims to strengthen local business ties and promote Black entrepreneurship.
Though limited, tickets for the 5th Annual Black Business Ball are still available, and early booking is encouraged due to limited capacity. All ticket sales proceeds will directly benefit the grant program for Black-owned businesses, furthering BBE’s mission to uplift the Black business community.
