From Military Prison to Real Estate: Felicia’s Journey of Resilience and Redemption.

In this episode of The Bounce Back Podcast, host B-Luke sits down with Felicia, a woman whose journey from adversity to triumph is nothing short of remarkable. Growing up in Keene, New Hampshire, Felicia joined the military at 17, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start. However, her life took an unexpected turn when she found herself involved in drug dealing on base, leading to her arrest and imprisonment in a military prison—while pregnant. Despite the hardships she faced, Felicia refused to be defined by her circumstances.

Now a successful real estate professional and single mother of two, Felicia shares her incredible story of perseverance, growth, and transformation. Her journey from military incarceration to thriving in a new career is an inspiring testament to the power of resilience and determination.

Felicia opens up about the challenges she endured, from the trauma of sexual abuse by her grandfather during her childhood to the toxic relationships that followed, which ultimately led to her temporarily losing custody of her children. After serving time in a strict military prison, she rebuilt her life by first becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), though she soon discovered that the emotional toll and low pay made it unsustainable. She then worked with individuals with disabilities but left the field after witnessing corruption.

Today, Felicia is two years free from her last abusive relationship and focused on advocating for incarcerated individuals. She stresses the importance of staying connected with those behind bars and confronting the abuses that exist within the prison system. Through her own experiences, Felicia encourages survivors of abuse to rise above their pasts, refusing to see themselves as mere statistics. Her journey is one of personal growth and learning, a message embodied by her tattoo: “never a failure, always a lesson” inked in Arabic.

Felicia’s story is a profound example of how strength and perseverance can lead to transformation, offering hope and inspiration to others facing their own challenges.
