Summer Walker is set to release her highly anticipated album Finally Over It, which will feature the new single “Heart of a Woman.” The announcement came on Friday, October 11, although Walker has not yet revealed an official release date for the album. Finally Over It (LVRN/Interscope Records) marks Walker’s third studio album and follows her successful 2021 project Still Over It, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Last week, Walker engaged with her fans by encouraging them to guess the title of her upcoming album. She finally confirmed the title through a post on Instagram, where she also revealed that the first single will be “Heart of a Woman.” In her post, she encouraged fans to “presave Heart of A Woman now!” and included a pre-save link in her Instagram bio.
In a teaser video, Walker offers a sneak peek of what’s to come. The Atlanta-born R&B artist is shown at home, stepping out of the shower while wearing a hot pink robe and holding a drink. The video features voicemail messages left on her answering machine that hint at relationship troubles. In one voicemail, a man is heard saying, “Damn, you gotta do me like that? I was just helping my cousin with groceries. Hit me back when you can talk. I know you’re finally over it, but damn, let’s talk about it. I love you.” As he speaks, Walker shatters the glass she’s holding.
In addition to her new music, Walker was featured on several singles last year, including Usher’s “Good Good” and “Prove It” with 21 Savage, who brought her on stage during his SNL performance in February. She also released Clear 2: Soft Life, the follow-up to her 2019 EP Clear.
