Sony Music Publishing Triumphs As Publisher Of The Year For Third Consecutive Year At 2024 SESAC Awards.

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) was named Publisher of the Year for the third straight year at the 2024 SESAC Music Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on September 17. The event recognized leading songwriters and publishers in the industry.

SMP’s Jack Harlow earned Songwriter of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, and also won Song of the Year for his Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Lovin On Me,” which held the top spot for six weeks.

“We are delighted to be named Publisher of the Year for the third consecutive time and to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our songwriters,” said Walter Jones, Sony Music Publishing’s EVP and Head of A&R.

Other SMP songwriters, including Dahi, Knox Morris, Melvin Hough, and Rivelino Woulter, were recognized for their contributions to tracks like “Good Good” by Usher and Summer Walker, “3D” by Jung Kook and Jack Harlow, “Not The 1975” by The Kooks, and “Used” by SZA.

Jones added, “This recognition is thanks to our talented songwriters who inspire us daily. I also want to thank our dedicated team and SESAC for this prestigious honor. Congratulations to everyone involved!”

Other notable award winners at the SESAC event included Ariana Grande, Green Day, Jimmy Napes, Fede Vindver, and Traci Hale. Sony Music Publishing’s recent accolades include being named BMI’s Pop Publisher of the Year for the seventh consecutive year in June.
