NAV And Pharrell Collaborate Amidst Tensions With Drake.

NAV rarely leaves the studio, or at least it seems that way. The Canadian rapper has released four projects in the last four years and has already announced two more for 2024: the mixtape ‘Nav2’ and the studio album ‘On My Way 2 Rexdale’. NAV’s projects are known for their standout production, showcasing his keen ear for beats and collaborators. This makes his latest collaboration noteworthy, if not entirely unexpected. Recently, NAV shared photos on Instagram of himself with Pharrell Williams.

The photos, taken at the Louis Vuitton office in Paris, France, show NAV and Pharrell enjoying the luxury products. However, the most intriguing part of the post is that they appeared to be working on music together. One image features Pharrell playing a keyboard while NAV sits beside him. Although NAV didn’t provide any captions, it’s likely they are planning a collaboration, which would mark their first song together.

The timing of these photos is significant, given both NAV and Pharrell’s involvement in the recent Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, despite not releasing diss tracks themselves. NAV unfollowed Drake on Instagram during the conflict, prompting Drake to troll him with lyrics from NAV’s song “Turks”. Some fans also speculate that Drake’s line “head to Delilah with all of my ice” from “Family Matters” was a subtle jab at NAV. Pharrell, on the other hand, has had long-standing tension with Drake for over a decade.

Kendrick Lamar criticized Drake’s feud with Pharrell in his song “Euphoria” and declared his intention to take on Pharrell’s legacy. Drake responded in “Family Matters,” challenging Lamar to retrieve Pharrell’s legacy, referring to jewelry designed and owned by Pharrell before Drake bought it. Although NAV and Pharrell have little in common musically, apart from collaborations with The Weeknd, their mutual adversary adds an intriguing dimension to their potential partnership.
