Metro Boomin Confirms That His Collaborative Album With JID Is Still In Progress.

Metro Boomin has been quite active lately. He recently released two collaborative albums with Future and sparked a hip-hop rivalry with Drake. Despite this, the St. Louis producer is already looking ahead to his next projects. He has expressed interest in working with Eminem on X (formerly Twitter), but what really has fans excited is the rumored album with JID. Concerns that this collaboration might have been abandoned due to rap politics have been put to rest.

When asked if the JID album was still happening on April 25, Metro quickly responded affirmatively, bringing relief to fans. JID is signed to Dreamville, and Metro’s relationship with J. Cole has been somewhat complicated recently. Although Cole was targeted in the Metro-produced single “Like That,” their issues seem to have been resolved, with Cole even featuring on another Metro-produced track, “Red Leather.” However, the situation isn’t entirely smoothed over, as Metro was also involved in the “Like That” remix, which contained more bars aimed at Cole.

The collaboration between JID and Metro was initially announced in March 2023, and while details like the album’s title or release date are still unclear, fans have taken to calling it “JIDTRO.” Several snippets of their work together have been shared, including tracks like “Just Do It” and “Ashes2Ashes.”

JID himself is keeping busy. He has confirmed the release of a solo album titled Forever & a Day before his collaboration with Metro. Fans speculate that this album may be a follow-up to The Forever Story, which was his breakthrough project in 2022. While details about the release of Forever & a Day and the JID/Metro collaboration remain uncertain, fans are confident that both projects will deliver when they eventually arrive.
