Rapper GloRilla from Memphis has had a remarkable breakthrough during the past year. Glo has already proven herself to be a strong hitter with “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2,” two back-to-back hits.
Later, these tracks would be included on her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great…, which was published in November of last year. The following month, she would be named a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance. GloRilla is currently preparing her full-length album debut.
In an interview with Good Morning America as part of a series honoring the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, Glo discussed the forthcoming album. She didn’t reveal too much, but she did say that more upbeat, uplifting songs for women are on the way.
“I’m excited about it,” Glo remarked. “I intend to top the list. I need to write another song that will become an anthem and make all the girls shout.
Glo also has further milestones to anticipate. Glo and Cardi B’s “Tomorrow 2” duet has been nominated by MTV for Best New Artist and Best Hip-Hop, respectively.
In another section of the Good Morning America interview, Glo referred to Cardi’s verse from “Tomorrow 2” as her “favorite feature of all time.”
