Roddy Ricch Feeds The Streets Literally By Paying For L.A Residents’ Groceries

This week, Roddy Ricch truly lived up to the name of his mixtape series, “Feed Tha Streets,” by buying groceries for local Los Angeles residents.

The resident of Compton startled customers by announcing over the store’s loudspeaker that he would be covering all of their tabs for the day.

“It’s Roddy Ricch, if I got any shoppers in here we just came through to pay for anybody’s groceries for the next 30 minutes,” he said over the P.A. system.

“If you got your groceries and you want us to pay for them and help y’all out. We are here for y’all, make your way to the register — we got y’all and we appreciate y’all. We love [L.A.]. Happy holidays.”

Roddy continued to hear comments from customers who were so touched by his kindness that one woman was on the verge of crying.

“Thank you so much, I just wanna cry right now,” she said, while another shopper added: “This is a blessing today.”

On Friday, Roddy Ricch released his much anticipated Feed Tha Streets 3 project from his renowned mixtape series (November 18). Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign make only a few brief cameo appearances on the cassette, which has 15 tracks compressed into 39 minutes.

The Grammy-winning rapper has been actively giving back in recent weeks, such as when, while on tour with Post Malone in New York City last month, he pulled up to a middle school and shared some life lessons.

“We just wanted to come by and show y’all some love and be active in the community and just let y’all know that there’s somebody out there that cares for y’all,” he told the children in the school’s auditorium. “Everything we do is for the kids. We are here for y’all. I was once y’all.”

Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman of New York State presented Roddy with formal recognition for his contributions to the neighborhood.
