DJ Khaled has decided to make his sneaker closet a popular tourist attraction in Miami and has put it up for rent on Airbnb.
Two lucky fans will get to stay in Khaled’s enormous shoe closet on December 5 and 6 for just $11 per night as part of the vacation rental company’s agreement with the God Did hitmaker, which was unveiled this week. The pricing is a tribute to Khaled’s shoe size.
The booking opens on November 29 at 1 p.m. ET, and the winning team will also receive a pair of Khaled’s brand-new Air Jordan 5 “We the Best” sneakers, which go on sale on Cyber Monday (November 28) and cost roughly $225 each.
Along with the chance to visit some of Khaled’s favorite Miami destinations, guests will also receive a personalized handwritten note from him. These include a private shopping session at 305 Kicks and a catered meal from Khaled’s “Another Wing” restaurant.
“Sneakers are an essential part of hip-hop culture, and collecting them is an art – just like creating music,” DJ Khaled said in a statement. “We bring the same passion and energy to the shoe game as we do to the studio.” That’s why we’re excited to share our sneaker kingdom with fans and give them a chance to walk in our shoes, literally.
Khaled’s shoe collection is legendary, with over 10,000 pairs. In 2015, the We the Best boss allowed fans access to his expansive sneaker collection as part of Complex’s Complex Closets series.
DJ Khaled has been working hard to promote his most recent Air Jordan partnership. He even managed to get Jadakiss to record a fresh freestyle for the shoe’s advertisement.
“They ain’t believe in us, MJ did,” Khaled says in the ad before Jadakiss spits a few bars about Khaled’s salmon-colored kicks.
“No matter what, all I ever knew was keep flowing / Air Jordan 5 We The Best keep going / Because they didn’t believe in him, the only thing you see me in / The colorway’s amazing, the leather’s premium,” Jada raps.
Khaled has a broader We the Best partnership in the works that includes three more hues that appear to be reserved just for his loved ones. The new sneakers will be a part of that larger collaboration. Kanye West gave his blessing as well after Khaled showed him some sample pairs earlier this year.
The 2023 Grammy Awards will take place in February, and Khaled is still on a high from the success of his most recent album, God Did, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in September and received numerous nominations.
