50 Cent has revealed plans to build a new facility called the G-Dome in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The rapper and entrepreneur already operates G-Unit Studios in the city and is now preparing to expand. The development has received support from local government committees, who see the project as part of the city’s growth.
The G-Dome is described as being inspired by the Las Vegas Sphere. Unlike temporary concert venues, it is intended to be a permanent arena in Shreveport, though specific features of the facility have not yet been announced.
In addition to the arena, 50 Cent’s G-Unit Studios is being developed with the aim of becoming a tourist attraction. Plans are still in early stages, and more information about both projects is expected at a later date.
Outside of business ventures, 50 Cent has continued to make headlines for his public remarks about his former friend Floyd Mayweather. Recently, he posted on Instagram claiming that an ornate goblet once owned by Mayweather was being pawned.
“Damn champ you pawning shit, they just hit me asking do I want it, they want 80K for it call my phone,” he wrote alongside the post.
Mayweather has not responded to the allegation about the goblet. The exchange is the latest in a long history of public back-and-forths between the two.
Earlier this year, Mayweather appeared on Fox Business’s Making Money with Charles Payne where he voiced his support for Donald Trump. He called the former president “the best president” in his eyes, praising Trump’s business background.
50 Cent criticized the remarks on Instagram, making fun of Mayweather while referencing his choice of words. “YO you know how, when you’re in school and a kid eats the crayons. Now you see what happens when they grow up. Spell BEST PRESIDENT champ! LOL,” he posted.
With both the G-Dome project and the ongoing development of G-Unit Studios, 50 Cent’s plans suggest that Shreveport will continue to be central to his business interests.
