2023 IYKYK Music Festival Headliners Include Denzel Curry, Metro Boomin, and Lil Uzi Vert

On September 9 at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona, Lil Uzi Vert will perform as the opening act for the first IYKYK Music Festival. The one-day event, which is the result of a collaboration between Relentless Beats and Universatile Music, is said to be an examination of hip hop that combines music with interactive activations, art, and fashion.

The rapper from Philadelphia will be Arizona’s first headlining act at the premier event. Along with Uzi, the roster also has Denzel Curry, Jeleel!, Metro Boomin, and one more unnamed artist. The roster would soon include more performers, the organizers claimed, according to the event’s official website.

Uzi’s festival attendance follows the release of their most recent album, Pink Tape, and marks the end of a hip-hop music dry period. Their most recent album, which was released in June, immediately topped the Billboard 200 chart. The 26-song album, praised for standout songs including “Endless Fashion” and “Just Wanna Rock,” included Nicki Minaj, Don Toliver, and Travis Scott.

As the rapper embarks on a 17-city tour this autumn, beginning in Chicago on October 23 and ending at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on November 22, fans can also anticipate a number of exhilarating performances. Additionally, they will stop in important cities like Brooklyn, San Francisco, Detroit, Atlanta, and Dallas.

Uzi is apparently already planning their next album, forgoing a deluxe edition in favor of moving on from the success of Pink Tape. They were also seen working in the studio with DJ Akademiks and teasing the release of Barter 16, another album of tracks.

Metro Boomin’s career took off after the 2022 release of his widely praised sophomore LP HEROES & VILLAINS. The St. Louis beatmaker just created the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, continuing his upward trend. Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, Offset, Nas, Swae Lee, and a number of others contributed features to it.
